Lincoln City vs MK Dons Predictions
- Lincoln’s home record is worse than all in League One but Gillingham. The Imps have earned just nine points from 10 home games, and have lost three of their last four to nil.
- The hosts have gone six league games without a win, and failed to score in four of those.
- Only second-placed Wigan have scored more goals on the road than MK Dons in the third tier.
Lincoln’s home troubles
Lincoln have gone six league games without a win, netting in just two of those, but it is at home where Michael Appleton’s team have really struggled this term. The Imps have won just two of their 10 league games at Sincil Bank, scoring a dreadful eight goals.
Lincoln’s last three four home games have seen them score just one goal against largely mid-table opposition, and the visit of MK Dons, who have scored 22 goals on 10 road trips this season, will not fill Appleton with hope.
MK Dons have won four of their last seven league games, the exceptions all being against teams in the top seven of the division. The promotion-chasing visitors have an away record only bettered by the eight teams above them in the League One table, and will be confident of earning some festive cheer on Sunday.
Back visitors to deepen Imps’ woes
Neither of these two teams played last weekend, owing to the Covid-enforced disruption of the Football League calendar, but the visitors will certainly be approaching their return to action in more confident mood.
Backing MK Dons for an away win on Boxing Day, particularly given the price available against a team with a dreadful home record, seems the obvious play here. Lincoln have scored just eight home goals this season, so a 2-0 away win for Liam Manning’s team looks a decent correct score prediction.
