      Liverpool vs Bournemouth Predictions

Liverpool continued their resurgence on Saturday with a convincing 3-1 win in the Merseyside Derby to make it four games without defeat, with three of those games ending in victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

This is a welcome break after they endured a dreadful start to 2017, and it keeps them well in the hunt for a top four spot in the Premier League. They are currently 3rd in the table, but they are only six points clear of 5th placed Manchester United and have played two more games than their rivals.

Liverpool’s attack may have upped their game in the past month or so, but their defensive capabilities remain in serious question. They have conceded in ten of their last 11 matches in all competitions, scoring themselves in nine of them.

Bournemouth are no strangers to goals either, although you could be forgiven for forgetting that after their dour draw at St Mary’s on Saturday. They have scored in nine of their last 13 matches, and recently their defence has improved and allowed them to string together a four match unbeaten streak.

Away from home they remain winless in five matches though, with three defeats and two draws being played out since their 3-0 win over Swansea on New Year’s Eve. This leaves The Cherries in 11th position in the league, seven points clear of the drop zone.

Bournemouth will have to keep a close eye on Phillipe Coutinho. The Brazilian play-maker controlled the match on Saturday and topped his afternoon off with a goal. He has scored four of his seven goals this season at Anfield, so backing him to score anytime at 6/5 looks a good choice for our goalscorer predictions.

Liverpool are as bad defensively at home as they are on the road. They have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight games at Anfield, scoring themelves in six of them and seeing at least three goals in each of their last three at home.

Bournemouth have been involved in high scoring games in seven of their last nine on the road too, so another high scoring affair here looks to be on the cards. I doubt either team can keep a clean sheet either, so I’m backing Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score at 20/21 along with a 3-1 win for Liverpool at 11/1 for my correct score predictions.
