Liverpool and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Liverpool suffered a major setback in the Premier League title race against Arsenal last time out but they have won nine of their 11 league fixtures at Anfield this term and can bounce back with a win over Burnley, who can get on the scoresheet in defeat.

Liverpool 3-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in four of Burnley’s last five matches, including in a 3-1 defeat away to Manchester City and there could be a repeat of that scoreline when Vincent Kompany’s men travel to Liverpool.

Diogo Jota To Score Anytime

Diogo Jota has impressed with 13 Premier League goals this term – only Mo Salah has scored more for Liverpool – and the Portuguese talent is worth backing to get on the scoresheet at Anfield.

Reds after response following Emirates setback

The gap between Liverpool and their Premier League title rivals was narrowed following their 3-1 loss away to Arsenal on Sunday but the Reds can respond when they host Burnley this Saturday.

Following Jurgen Klopp’s announcement that he will be leaving at the end of the season, Liverpool eased to 5-2 and 4-1 wins over Norwich and Chelsea in the FA Cup and Premier League respectively.

And they looked in command of the Premier League title race until last Sunday, when they slipped to a 3-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal completely dominated the match in north London, restricting the Reds to just one shot on target.

And their only goal of the game was a Gabriel own goal following a mistake from fellow defender William Saliba at the end of the first half.

Home comforts point to Liverpool success

Going forwards Liverpool offered very little against Arsenal but that was arguably more to do with the way Mikel Arteta’s men defended and Klopp’s team should have more luck back on their own patch.

Liverpool have picked up 29 of their 51 points at home this season and they have scored 30 Premier League goals at Anfield this term – that is nearly three goals per game.

Mo Salah is not yet ready to return but Liverpool should still have enough of an attacking threat to see off lowly Burnley.

Burnley can get on the scoresheet at Anfield

Vincent Kompany’s men are seven points off safety in the league and have played one game more than 17th-placed Luton Town.

Their survival hopes are fading fast and things are unlikely to get any better at Anfield, where they could be in for a heavy defeat.

That said, Kompany’s side have scored in four of their last five matches, scoring away to Aston Villa and Manchester City as part of that run, and a bet on Liverpool to win and both teams to score could be the way to go.

As for a correct score bet, Burnley lost 3-1 to Man City in their last away game and Liverpool can win by the same margin.

Salah’s absence is not ideal for the Reds but Diogo Jota is a worthy deputy, having scored 13 times in 26 league games this term and the Portuguese ace is a decent bet to get on the scoresheet.
