Liverpool vs Chelsea Betting Tips & Predictions

Liverpool put in a solid performance on Sunday when they beat Watford 2-0. It wasn’t a spectacular game by any means, but you can’t expect it after they put everything into beating Villarreal 3-0 on Thursday to make it to the Europa League Final.

This excellent turnaround from the first leg will have the Liverpool players on cloud nine, and they have now won six of their last nine outings in all competitions. They are still down in 8th position in the Premier League though, meaning that they need to get some points on the table to stand a chance of qualifying for Europe next season in the case that they don’t win the final.

A win for them on Wednesday could send them as high as 6th position, but they need West Ham to slip up for that to happen. Interestingly, if they finish in 7th position they will be cheering arch rivals Manchester United on in the FA Cup Final, as a win for them would extend the Europa League qualification positions to include 7th.

Chelsea let a lead slip through their fingers twice on Saturday as relegation candidates Sunderland emphatically beat them 3-2. This made it just one win from their last five matches in the Premier League and just two wins from their last ten in all competitions. They also saw John Terry sent off, meaning he could well have played his last ever game for the club.

Chelsea’s defence recently has been shocking. They have conceded nine goals in their last four matches and now find themselves coming up against a Liverpool side who have scored 19 goals in their last six home matches and have scored at least two goals in each of their last six games at Anfield.

This, along with Terry’s suspension, makes odds of 4/5 for Liverpool Over 1.5 Team Goals look incredibly good value, and that’s what I’m going for alongside a 3-1 correct score prediction at 12/1.
