Liverpool vs Toulouse Predictions
- Under 2.5 goals has been a winning bet in seven of Toulouse’s games this season.
- Liverpool have won their last two home games 2-0.
- Liverpool have three clean sheets in their last five home games.
Toulouse test for Reds
Liverpool entertain French outfit Toulouse in the Europa League on Thursday in a test that may not be quite as straightforward as the odds suggest Jurgen Klopp’s men.
It wouldn’t come as a huge surprise to see Klopp rest a few key men for this game, or at least name the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk among his substitutes, given how well they have started in the Premier League.
Even with a weakened team, Liverpool should be claim all three points here but Toulouse will set up to defend and that could lead to a low-scoring encounter.
Under 3.5 goals appeals
The big price on under 2.5 goals is one option here but at around evens under 3.5 goals looks a great bet.
Seven of Toulouse’s games in all competitions have produced under 2.5 goals and 10 have gone under 3.5. The French outfit’s only comparable test this term has come in a home league game against PSG and they managed a 1-1 draw, while they also held Marseille to a goalless stalemate away.
If Liverpool do make changes their attacking play won’t be as free flowing as usual, and Le Tefece will set up to defend as a draw would be a great result for the visitors as they bid to keep hold of second spot in Group E. Liverpool’s games do tend to be high-scoring but under 3.5 goals has been a winning bet in three of their last four and Toulouse are unlikely to start taking too many risks even if they do fall behind.
Liverpool can keep a clean sheet
Both teams to score has been a feature of Liverpool’s games this season but they have managed three clean sheets in their last five at home.
A 2-0 win for Liverpool is the correct score prediction as they have won their last two home games by that scoreline, and have scored exactly two goals in each of their last three games.
Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch scored against Union SG in the previous round and provided an assist in Liverpool’s opening group stage game, a 3-1 win at LASK. The 21-year-old appears to be enjoying this competition and looks a good contender for an anytime goal on Thursday.
