Liverpool vs West Brom Predictions
Liverpool were shocking last weekend. They were facing the worst defence in the Premier League yet couldn’t muster any form of attacking threat despite their recent good form.
They went into that match on the back of an impressive 6-1 thrashing of Southampton in the League Cup, and I imagine Jurgen Klopp will be working hard to get his strikers back on form ahead of this clash.
Overall their form is pretty good. They have won four of their last six matches in all competitions, losing once and drawing once.
This has pushed Liverpool up to 8th in the Premier League table, and their 23 points is only three fewer than the first of the European qualification positions.
West Brom’s clean sheet speciality has gone out of the window in recent weeks. They have now conceded in five consecutive matches, although to be fair they have managed to up their scoring form as well.
However, their form has suffered because of this new found defensive instability. They have only won one of their last five matches in the Premier League and have been on the wrong end of defeat twice.
This has seen West Brom start a slow slide down the Premier League table. They are now in 13th position, although a win on Sunday could send the into the top half of the table.
Four of Liverpool’s last seven matches in all competitions have seen both sides find the back of the net, and West Brom have seen the same thing happen in four of their last five outings in the Premier League. Four of the last six meetings between the sides have ended with both teams on the scoresheet as well.
This makes odds of 11/8 for Both Teams to Score look incredibly attractive, so I’m backing that along with a 1-1 correct score prediction at 17/2.
