Livingston vs Rangers Predictions
Rangers travel to West Lothian on Sunday to face Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Can the hosts improve their form and cause an upset on Sunday?
Livingston will host another one of the Old Firm sides this weekend as they look for a win, something they’ve not achieved since beating Celtic at the start of October. Livi are now winless in their last four matches and have picked up just two points from 12.
Gary Holt’s side have had a tough task finding the net at home, scoring a mere 0.8 goals on average – or a total of four goals from their five home ties, two of which came against Celtic. Moreover, the West Lothian club have failed to score in 40% of their home ties, but also hold their ground well and have kept a clean sheet in 60% of games.
Much like their city rivals, Rangers come into this game in hot form after successfully beating Porto 2-0 at Ibrox, extending their winning streak to four games and their unbeaten run to an impressive seven matches.
Steven Gerrard’s men have also done extremely well on the road and are undefeated in their five away league matches. Moreover, the Gers have managed to keep a clean sheet in 60% of their away days, have bagged an average of 2.4 goals away from home and have conceded just twice on the road – the best record in the league.
It’s hard to see how Livingston can break their trend of scoring more than one goal at home and keep goal-hungry Rangers at bay. The lack of goals from the home side means a Gers victory to nil seems a good choice, which is why we’re going for that outcome, especially as Rangers have only conceded twice away from home.
We’re also going to go for a 2-0 Rangers victory because, despite playing on away ground, we feel they’ll continue their unbeaten streak away from home and continue scoring an average of 2.4 goals.
