Lokeren vs Club Brugge Predictions

Lokeren have had a terrible season, and sit rock bottom of the Belgium Pro League table. The main reason for this is their appalling away form. They have picked up just 2 points on the road all season, with one of those points coming from a shock 1-1 draw with Anderlecht. Their home form has been half decent though, picking up 12 points from 10 games.

Brugge have not had a great season either by their own very high standards. After coasting to the league title last season by 12 points, they currently find themselves 2nd in the league, 7 points adrift of first place Genk. They have also crashed out of the Champions League, however they did finish 3rd in the group so they will at least get the chance to continue their European adventures in the Europa League.

Lokeren have lost just twice in their last 7 home league games, winning 3 and drawing 2, beating 5th place Sint-Truiden in their last match at the Daknamstadion. They have also found their shooting boots, scoring 2 goals in each of their last 4 home games.

Brugge started the season with great form away from home, winning 3 and drawing 1 of their first 4. Since then though they have really struggled, picking up just 3 points from their next 6 on the road. They have conceded 2+ in 4 of their last 6 away, losing 2-1 in their last but one away against 14th place Waasland-Beveren. Their most recent away game saw them draw 0-0 with 10th place Kortijk.

Club Brugge are understandably the favourites for the game, but they are priced up far too short at just 2/5. No wins in 6 away from home is terrible form, so we think it’s very unlikely they’ll bounce back on Thursday. Lokeren are priced up as massive outsiders for this one, but we’re confident they will get a result so we’re going for Lokeren Double Chance. We do think Brugge will get on the score-sheet though, so we’re also going for a 2-1 Lokeren win.
