Lorca vs Sevilla Atletico Predictions
Despite gaining a couple of seemingly unlikely victories of late, the fact remains that Lorca have been well and truly outclassed in the second division of Spanish football this season. Having failed to make the cut at this level, Curro Torres’ men will be returning to the third tier. However, despite their shortcomings, Friday’s hosts have managed to regain the slightest ounce of dignity of late, especially at home, as they’ve won three of their last five at Estadio Francisco Artés, losing just one of their last six.
Like the hosts, Sevilla Atletico have also failed to make the grade in the Segunda and they’ll be joining Friday’s hosts when they drop out of the division after the weekend. Though again, like the home side, the visitors have managed to gain a few positive results of late. Having won three of their last five, as well as five of their last ten, it’s a case of too little, too late for Luis Tevenet’s side.
It’s fair to say that both Lorca and Sevilla have struggled massively this season, though, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, the pair have upped their attacking productivity in recent weeks. The hosts come here having scored in five of their last seven, while the visitors have found the back of the net in six of their last seven.
From a defensive point of view, both have continued to struggle; Lorca have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four and have now conceded at least once in all but one of their last 13 matches. The visitors have done slightly better with four clean sheets during that time, though that doesn’t exactly tell the full story. Quite simply, Tevenet’s men are weak at the back, so the hosts should fancy themselves to make some offensive headway in this final match.
Lorca may be one of the lowest scoring sides in the division, but they’ve tended to do well offensively against weak opposition at home. Just two clean sheets in seven home matches against teams who are either relegated already or can still be relegated isn’t great, though the fact that Torres’ men have scored in 100% of those games is very positive.
The visitors have largely failed to score away from home this season but, having scored a few goals on late, they’ll fancy their chances against a weak Lorca team. What’s more, they’ve scored in more than half of their away matches against teams currently in the bottom eight. Unsurprisingly, given their open nature, ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ has landed in five of those seven matches.
Given the weak defensive nature of this pair, coupled with the fact that both ought to fancy themselves to do some damage against beatable opposition, ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ stands out.
