Los Angeles can lose their losing habit

Los Angeles are third in the Western Conference despite a three-game losing sequence and they can get back on track with a high-scoring success over San Jose at BMO Stadium.

Steve Cherundulo’s side were beaten in the Concacaf Champions League final in early June, losing out 3-1 on aggregate to Mexican opponents Leon, and they have struggled to lift themselves since.

The Falcons have lost five of their last eight MLS fixtures but they have a good chance to respond because three of their next four games are on home soil.

Los Angeles have taken 20 points from their ten home games and should justify favouritism against mid-table San Jose, although a clean sheet may elude them.

San Jose slump may continue

Neither team will approach the fixture with much confidence but San Jose are harder to fancy because they generally struggle away from home.

The Earthquakes have taken just six points from ten away fixtures and have a poor record at Los Angeles FC where they have lost on six of their last seven visits.

San Jose might look to get on the front foot against their out-of-form hosts, who have kept one clean sheet in seven.

But they were beaten 4-1 by Houston on their last road trip and another disappointing result is on the cards.
