Luton vs Barnsley Predictions
- Luton have kept three successive clean sheets
- Barnsley have lost five matches in a row
- The Hatters are unbeaten in their last five fixtures at Kenilworth Road
Luton out to maintain promotion push
A 3-0 win over Cambridge on Saturday ensured Luton have now picked up three wins in four games in all competitions, while they have lost just once in eight league outings.
Nathan Jones’ side are now on the brink of the Championship play-off places and have been impressive defensively lately, notching up three clean sheets in a row.
They have won two of those games and have been defeated just three times at Kenilworth Road in the league this season, racking up six wins in the process.
Barnsley running out of time
Barnsley on the other hand are hopelessly out of form, crashing out of the FA Cup on Saturday at the hands of Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield, losing the all Championship match 1-0.
They have now suffered five successive defeats, sit bottom of the division and remain without a win in the league under new manager Poya Asbaghi, who took charge in November but has been beaten in seven of his ten fixtures.
The Tykes are also on a terrible run in front of goal, failing to score in their last four outings and ending on the wrong side of a 1-0 scoreline in the last three.
Barnsley will end that drought in front of goal eventually, but perhaps not against a defence as resolute as Luton’s. I predict the Hatters will win to nil, selecting 2-0 as a correct score.
