Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Luton and Middlesbrough have struggled for consistency, and with both teams often involved in tight games, a low-scoring encounter looks likely. Five of Middlesbrough’s last six away matches have ended in defeat, and goals could be scarce at Kenilworth Road.

Luton 1-0

Reason for tip

Luton have won eight of their nine games this season by a single goal, while ten of Middlesbrough’s 14 defeats have also been by a one-goal margin. A narrow 1-0 win for the Hatters could be the outcome.

Luton vs Middlesbrough Predictions

Goals in short supply at Kenilworth Road

Saturday’s Championship clash between Luton and Middlesbrough at Kenilworth Road is unlikely to produce many goals. Under 2.5 goals is the best bet.

Middlesbrough are eighth in the table, 15 places and 19 points above Luton. The hosts have nine wins, seven draws and 21 defeats this season, while Middlesbrough have won 15, drawn eight and lost 14.

Luton were 2-1 winners against Cardiff on Tuesday, but have been in patchy form recently, with two wins, one draw and three defeats in their last six Championship games. Middlesbrough have recorded three victories in the last four head-to-heads, but five of their last six away games have seen them beaten.

Luton to win 1-0 looks a decent correct-score bet as the Hatters look to fight off a double relegation having dropped out of the Premier League last season and in danger of doing the same in the Championship.

Eight of Luton’s nine victories this season have been by one goal, and ten of Middlesbrough’s 14 losses in the Championship have also been by a single goal.
