Maccabi Haifa will have another attempt at making it through to the UEFA Champions League (UCL), something they haven’t achieved since 2010, after losing out in the first qualifying round last season against Kazakhstan’s Kairat last summer. They’ve not exactly been pulling up any trees lately either having lost friendlies to both Mechelen and Vitesse Arnhem earlier in the month. Boss Barak Bakhar will be eager to see improvements from his side given what’s at stake in this match

The visitors Olympiacos absolute dominated the Greek Super League last season as they finished top of the pile and did so by a 19-point margin. They arrive here off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Aris last Monday and their manager Pedro Martins bemoaned his team’s lack of concentration in the defensive department. That will certainly need to improve if they are to return to the group stages of the Champions League.
