Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Chelsea Betting Tips

Maccabi Tel Aviv may be leading the way in their domestic competition, things aren’t going well in Europe.

They have lost all four of their Champions League group games so far, scoring just once and conceding 11 times.

The chance for qualification to the knockout stages has already passed them by, but wins against Chelsea and Dynami Kiev in the final two games would still give them a chance of qualifying for the Europa League knockout rounds.

Overall, they aren’t in particularly good form. They have lost four and won three of their last seven games in all competitions, and despite Chelsea’s poor form this season it’s looking unlikely that they will take anything from this game as well.

Chelsea did manage to grab a win at the weekend though, with a 1-0 victory over the out of form Norwich being greeted more with relief than expectation.

This win was only their second in the last seven games, and their third in 11 outings for the out of sorts Premier League champions. Six of these 11 games have been losses for Chelsea.

This poor form leaves them wallowing in 15^th position in the Premier League after collecting only 14 points from their first 13 games.

But they can save some pride in the Champions League. They are in 2^nd position in Group G after picking up seven points from their first four games. A win on Tuesday could see them seal a qualification spot depending on Porto’s result against 3^rd placed Dynamo Kiev. They could also move top should Porto lose against Dynamo Kiev.

Chelsea beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-0 when they met at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League opening group game, and they will be confident of another win on Tuesday.

I’m not expecting another 4-0 drubbing here, but I think the visitors will be comfortable. Odds of 1.550 for a Chelsea -1 Asian Handicap Win look good value to me.
