Maidenhead United Double Chance (Win or Draw)
Maidenhead United vs Bromley Predictions
- Maidenhead United are getting players back from injury and COVID-19 related absences.
- Bromley lost a couple of players to injury against Southend on Boxing Day.
- Bromley have failed to score more than once in four of their last five away league games.
Home side have come through the worst of injury crisis
Relegation-threatened Maidenhead United can block Bromley’s promotion push by avoiding defeat at York Road on Tuesday.
The Magpies’ home form is spotty with two back-to-back wins in October followed by heavy losses against Dagenham & Redbridge in November and Solihull Moors in December – the latter coming to a backdrop of half the first-team being out because of COVID-19. But they are getting players back from injury now and can hold off a weakened Bromley in this.
The Ravens lost a couple of players to injury in their 1-1 Boxing Day draw with struggling Southend. Forward Louis Dennis was forced off just before the break and midfielder Liam Trotter’s late injury left the hosts to play the final minutes with ten men.
Bromley weren’t great against struggling Southend
Besides their late equaliser, the relegation-threatened visitors created a number of chances against the Ravens over the course of the game with Jason Demetriou missing two in the second half after one first-half effort was cleared off the line.
So Bromley’s status as firm favourites for this clash could be called into question by a Maidenhead side that also drew 1-1 with Southend recently.
United will probably give a debut to new loan signing Daniel Gyollai in goal and, if he plays as well as he’s been doing for Peterborough’s under-23s recently, that will add more security at the back.
The selection here is to shun the odds-on price of Bromley and take the home side double chance at equivalent odds. Two of Bromley’s last five away results have been 1-1 draws so that’s going to be our correct score pick.
