Haaland proves unstoppable once again

Manchester City made it eight wins in a row in all competitions with a 4-1 thumping of Southampton on Saturday and the defending champions could transfer that form to the Champions League on Tuesday.

Erling Braut Haaland was once again centre of attention as he scored his 30th Premier League goal of the season with a stunning bicycle kick and the Norwegian sharpshooter is tipped to punish Bayern Munich.

He scored five goals in seven appearances against Bayern Munich while at Borussia Dortmund and heads into this game with an insane 11 goals in his last four appearances, so I’m backing him to add to his already enormous tally.

Tuchel looks for more Champions League success

Bayern Munich also won at the weekend but their 1-0 victory at Freiburg was rather less comprehensive than Pep Guardiola’s side, with Thomas Tuchel now leading the Bavarian giants to two wins and a defeat in his first three games in charge.

That being said, Bayern have won every single Champions League game this season and Tuchel is renowned for his ability in knockout competitions, so this is far from an easy tie for the favourites.

Goals galore at the Etihad

What we can expect is plenty of goals. Manchester City’s last four games have produced a massive 23 goals and Bayern Munich have seen at least three goals in four of their last five matches, so I’m backing over 2.5 goals.

A 2-1 win for Manchester City appeals, too, with the visitors losing two of their last four competitive outings by that scoreline.
