Manchester City vs Liverpool Betting Tips

Manchester City may be sitting at the top of the Premier League table and on a good looking unbeaten streak, but their goalless draw against Aston Villa last time out will still be hurting them.

But they are unbeaten in nine matches in all competitions, and they have won seven of these. The only two they have failed to win have been goalless draws with Manchester United and Aston Villa.

These are the only two games that Manchester City have failed to score in, with all of their other 17 outings seeing them find the net at least once.

This leaves them at the top of the Premier League table, with Arsenal behind on goal difference and Leicester and Manchester United one and two points behind respectively. A win here is a must, as you have to expect that at least one of the other top 4 teams will win in their 3pm kickoffs.

Liverpool suffered their first loss under Jurgen Klopp before the international break as Crystal Palace beat them 2-1 at Anfield. This ended their 12 match unbeaten streak in all competitions, although eight of those games ended draws.

This penchant for draws sees them lying in a fairly disappointing 10^th position in the Premier League, but the Liverpool fans will be pleased at the new, more positive style of play that Klopp is trying to instil into his players.

Liverpool have won three of the last six meetings between these sides, with Manchester City taking the victory twice and one ending all square. Interestingly, all of these meetings have seen both teams find the back of the net.

Liverpool have scored in each of their last six games and in 12 of their last 13 outings. Coupled with Manchester City’s previously mentioned record and a Both Teams to Score bet is looking very promising. Odds of 8/11 for this outcome look pretty good value as well considering the statistics, so I’m backing that.
