Manchester United vs Leicester Predictions

Manchester United booked their place in the FA Cup Final last weekend as they beat Everton 2-1 in an action packed semi final at Wembley. However, now their attentions must turn to their fight for a Champions League qualification spot in the Premier League.

They come into this game in 5th position, five points adrift of both Arsenal and Manchester City but with a game in hand on both teams. But with just 12 points left to play for it’s becoming increasingly doubtful that they can make the top four.

Manchester United are in good form at the moment though. They have won four matches on the trot in all competitions and have only lost one of their last eight, but if this season has taught us anything it’s that Man United have the capability to be woeful at times.

Leicester could be about to have the most exciting weekend in their footballing history. Their 4-0 thrashing of Swansea last weekend announced to the world that they can still perform without Jamie Vardy, and the fact that Spurs then failed to beat West Brom on Monday put them within touching distance of the title.

They now need just three points from their final three games to secure an historic Premier League title, meaning a win at Old Trafford on Sunday could see them win the title at the most decorated stadium in England.

The title challengers aren’t exactly in bad form either. They are unbeaten in nine matches in the Premier League and have only lost three games all season. Avoiding defeat for the remaining three matches would seal the title for them.

Leicester have proved incredibly difficult to beat this season, and this doesn’t just go for the King Power Stadium. Away from home they have only lost twice all season, with their 11 wins and four draws putting them at the top of the away table in the Premier League. In fact, their away record is almost as good as their home record.

Considering their difficulty to beat, I think Leicester will prove troublesome for the inconsistent Manchester United attack to break down. Odds of 3/4 for a Leicester Win or Draw Double Chance look incredibly good value considering they have only lost three games all season, so I’m backing that along with a 1-1 correct score prediction at 11/2.
