      Manchester United vs Wolfsburg Predictions

Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday saw them score three goals for the third game on the trot.

This is a far cry from the side who were struggling to register shots on goal for the first few games of the season, and they actually look like genuine title contenders at the moment.

This win over the struggling Sunderland saw them pick up their third win in a row in all competitions, and they have won four of their last five. The only slip up was a 2-1 loss at PSV in their Champions League curtain raiser.

It also lifted them to the top of the Premier League table after their cross city rivals Manchester City lost at Spurs earlier in the day. They now hold a point advantage over their rivals after picking up 16 points from their first seven games.

Wolfsburg were one of the best teams in the Bundesliga last season, holding a huge point advantage over the majority of the league and only being bettered by Bayern Munich.

However, the loss of Kevin De Bruyne to Manchester City and the re-emergence of Borussia Dortmund seems to have hit them harder than they imagined.

They have won just two of their five games since De Bruyne left, drawing against Ingolstadt and Hannover as well as losing against Bayern Munich.

They actually led 1-0 against Bayern Munich at half time, but substitute Robert Lewandowski came on and scored five goals in nine minutes to put Wolfsburg back in their place.

Their lack of goals will be a real worry. Julian Draxler was brought in to replace the influential De Bruyne. But so far Wolfsburg have only scored five goals in their last five games, some way off their average of over two goals per game last season.

These two sides last met in the group stages of the 2009/10 Champions League, with Manchester United coming away as victors in both the home and away fixtures.

I expect the same outcome on Wednesday, and odds of 3/4 for the in form Manchester United to come away with the three points look like excellent value.
