They have been quite impressive after a sluggish start to La Liga and could be dark-horses in this competition. On initial impressions their form isn’t great with 4 defeats in their last 7 but they have all come against either Barcelona or Real Madrid and 3 of them were away from home. Their only other defeats in their last 20 fixtures have come in tough away games at Sevilla and Atletico Madrid and they’ll fancy their chances in this tie.

Marseille aren’t the force they were last year having had to sell some key players in the summer and find themselves languishing in 11th place in Ligue 1. There is certainly more quality in the Athletic side and they are an attacking team as they demonstrated by scoring twice at the Bernabeu at the weekend. They won’t be thinking merely about getting a draw here and could well come here and win on the night given Marseille’s current plight.
