Melbourne City failed to take advantage of their home status last weekend when they lost 2-1 against cross-city rivals Melbourne Victory. This comes after they have already managed to beat their rivals twice this season, so the defeat was a bit of a shock, despite their slight decline in form.

Prior to this defeat Melbourne City had won three and drawn three of their last six matches, but it wasn’t enough to hold onto 2nd place in the Hyundai A-League as Melbourne Victory snatched it off them. Leaders Sydney FC remain a significant seven points ahead of 3rd placed Melbourne City.

Bruno Fornaroli remains Melbourne City’s most dangerous player going forward. The striker has bagged seven league goals in his 11 appearances this season, and with six of these coming at the AAMI Park, backing him to score anytime at 8/13 looks the best choice for our goalscorer predictions.
