Millwall vs Bournemouth Predictions
Milwall’s unbeaten run was extended on Monday as they drew 2-2 at Wimbledon in League One, making it four matches without defeat but ending their three match winning streak in the process. This has lifted them to 9th in the League One table, and they will feel a playoff spot is well within their reach if they can keep this form going.
There are definite questions to be asked of Millwall in the defensive department though. They have conceded 15 goals in their last eight matches in all competitions, including two against Braintree Town in the FA Cup 2nd Round.
The hosts have also proven very beatable at The Den recently. They may be on a three match winning streak there, but prior to that they lost back to back games against Wycome and Shrewsbury.
Bournemouth threw two points away this week when they hosted Arsenal. Their shockingly went 3-0 up against the Premier League title contenders, but three goals in the final 20 minutes from the visiting Gunners saw them throw the lead away.
A draw at the start of the game would have been very welcome though, and they have now won three, drawn one, and lost three of their last seven games in the Premier League. This includes matches against Chelsea, Southampton, Leicester, Arsenal, and Liverpool, so it’s not turning into a bad season for The Cherries.
Away from home it has been a bit more difficult, with them winning two and losing four of their last six matches. However, two of those defeats did come at Chelsea and Arsenal.
Defensively they certainly aren’t at their best on their travels. They have kept just two clean sheets in their 11 away days this season, conceding a total of 20 goals. Millwall have only kept one clean sheet in their last six at home though, although they have also managed to score in five of them.
This should make for a fairly entertaining game of football, and with both teams struggling at the back a bit odds of 7/10 for Both Teams to Score look good value. I’m going for a Bournemouth win though with a 3-1 correct score predictions at 14/1.
