Ipswich to Win

Reason for tip

Ipswich came from behind twice to grab a 2-2 draw with West Brom on Saturday and have had 24 hours extra to prepare for this trip to The Den. Millwall, meanwhile, have lost four of their last five Championship matches and confidence in their camp appears very low at the moment.

Ipswich 1-0

Reason for tip

Four of Ipswich’s seven away league wins this season have been with 1-0 scorelines and, if Millwall fail to score for a third league game in five, the visitors may only need one goal to claim all three points.

Millwall vs Ipswich Predictions

  • Ipswich played well in their 2-2 draw with West Brom and have had 24 hours extra to prepare
  • Millwall have lost four of their last five Championship matches
  • Four of Ipswich’s seven away league wins this season have been with 1-0 scorelines

Millwall’s miserable year to continue

Millwall’s miserable 2024 could continue on Wednesday when the Lions entertain promotion-chasing Ipswich at The Den.

Joe Edwards’ side lost for a fifth time in six games on Sunday, despite taking the lead at Coventry through youngster Romain Esse. Edwards has been trying to encourage his defenders to play out from the back, but they look ill-suited to the approach and mistakes have been far too common.

Goalkeeper Matija Sarkic made a mess of the shot from Haji Wright that earned the Sky Blues a 2-1 victory on Sunday and the whole side look visibly low on confidence right now. It will be hard for Edwards to pick them up in the quick turnaround for this Wednesday night fixture and Ipswich will arrive having enjoyed an extra day’s rest too. Their automatic promotion hopes have been hit by a run of only one win in nine since mid-December, but they played well in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with West Brom – coming from behind twice to grab another draw.

Lions’ chins are on the floor

A stalemate cannot be ruled out for this contest too given six of Ipswich’s last nine league games have finished all square, but Millwall’s chins are on the floor at the moment and there is no better time for Kieran McKenna’s side to be playing them.

The visitors’ odds are short, but there was enough evidence in Saturday’s game to suggest McKenna’s men can grab an eighth road win of the campaign in Bermondsey.

Four of their seven so far have been by 1-0 scorelines and, although most of those came when they were churning out results earlier this season, Millwall have scored only twice in their last four Championship fixtures and may struggle to create much in midweek.
