Dons poised to pounce on top two slip

MK Dons have worked their way into a position to pounce on any slip-ups by Wigan or Rotherham in the remainder of the season. MK Dons currently sit in 3^rd place in the League One table, just three points off the automatic promotion spots. MK Dons are unbeaten in their last 12 matches and will be hoping to pick up enough points between now and the end of the season to return the Championship for the first time in seven years without the stress of the play-offs. No team in League One has taken more points in their last ten games than MK Dons and Liam Manning will be hoping his side hit the ground running following the international break

Shrews recent form a red herring

Shrewsbury have endured a truly abject season to date and despite a recent upturn in performances, look to have their work cut out on Saturday at Stadium MK. Shrewsbury have won their last three matches without conceding but holes can certainly be picked in that form. Victories over Morecambe, Lincoln and a Rotherham side who had ten men for over an hour, leave a lot to be desired. Shrewsbury have scored the 4^th fewest goals on their travels in League One this season and will find it tough to break down a MK Dons side who have conceded just eight goals in their last 15 league matches.

I will put up MK Dons as the main selection for this one and it ranks as my strongest fancy on Saturday’s League One card. Despite three wins on the spin, I am not convinced by Shrewsbury and suggest backing the hosts accordingly. In the correct score market, it will take a chance on a 2-0 MK Dons win.
