      MK Dons vs Leeds Predictions

Only 1 point separates these two clubs in the table and it has the makings of a close game. Both sides are coming into this game off setbacks. A 2-1 defeat at Burnley in it’s own right isn’t a disaster but it was a 3rd straight defeat for MK Dons, who have struggled for goals and points since a thumping opening day win at Rotherham.

Leeds suffered their first defeat of the season in midweek when they were beaten 1-0 at home to Ipswich. Their form hasn’t been as impressive at that sounds given the number of games they have been drawing. Their sole win came in arguably their toughest game away to Derby so it’s hard to confidently predict them to win or lose matches, when all their games have been so close.

What we can say here is that goals are unlikely to plentiful. There have only been 4 goals in 3 games at Stadium MK in the league this season and the Dons have only scored twice in their last six outings. They keep the ball quite well but struggle to create great openings and might find it tough to prize the Leeds defence apart.

Both sides have an identical record in the regard that only 2 of their 7 games in the league this season have had 3 or more goals in them. With neither side really at their best and coming into the game after midweek defeats it could be a tight kind of game with both sides keen to keep things tight. Therefore there looks to be real value in backing there to be under 2.5 goals at 8/11.

Given the sides appear quite evenly matched and 5 of the 7 games involving Leeds this season have ended in draws you’d be inclined to think this might end level. Milton Keynes are the more likely winners but given they were twice caught out badly at the back by Birmingham sucker punches in their last home game, they may try to keep things a bit tighter here and would probably settle for a point to end their 3 game losing streak.

Half of the Yorkshire club’s matches have finished 1-1 so far including their Capital One Cup tie at Doncaster which they lost on penalties and with another closely fought contest expected, this one could also end 1-1 and you can back that to be the case at 11/2.
