      Monaco vs Borussia Dortmund Predictions

Borussia Dortmund are rightly feeling hard done by at the moment after their shock last week. Their team bus was the target of a trio of bombs on Tuesday night, and rather than UEFA conferring with the team, they went ahead and rearranged the match for just 24 hours later.

Unsurprisingly Dortmund weren’t at their best after this series of events, and whilst they still looked devastating in attack Monaco tore their defence apart numerous times and came away with a 3-2 win for their efforts, with the highly rated teenager Kylian Mbappe banging in another two Champions League goals.

Monaco followed this up with a 2-1 win against Dijon to keep them three points ahead of PSG in the race for the Ligue 1 title, so this is turning out to be a very promising end to the season for the French club.

They have now won ten of their last 11 games in all competitions, and at home have won a huge 18 of their last 20 matches. They have also won all but one of their home Champions League games, scoring 13 goals and conceding four at the other end.

Borussia Dortmund bounced back from their midweek defeat to beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 at home, leaving them 4th in the Bundsliga but miles behind Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig at the front of the pack.

The visitors have only won four of their last eight outings in all competitions too, and away from home they have lost four of their last seven matches. They have managed to score in all but one of their last 18 trips away, but they have managed just two clean sheets and have severe defensive issues on the road.

Considering Monaco’s phenomenal home form and Dortmund’s struggles on the road, odds of 2.075 for a Monaco 0.0 Asian Handicap Win look fantastic value, so I’m backing that alongside a 3-1 win for the hosts at 18/1 for my correct score predictions.

In terms of our goalscorer predictions, it’s hard to ignore the impact Kylian Mbappe is having. The 18 year old has scored 21 goals in 35 appearances for Monaco this season, but only 21 of these were starts and since he forced his way into the starting lineup he has looked unstoppable. Odds of 11/8 for him to find the net again look very good value.
