St Etienne to continue revival

The writing looked to be on the wall for St Etienne boss Claude Puel following a seven-match losing sequence over the autumn, but they have bounced back and are now unbeaten in five.

Monaco’s form has head in the opposite direction, as they had lost three games on the spin prior to narrowly seeing off bottom-club Dijon last time out, with their last home fixture ending in a 3-0 defeat to RC Lens.

St Etienne have taken four points from their last two away games, most recently winning 2-1 at Bordeaux and we are predicting more away day success for Les Verts on Wednesday.

Recent history certainly suggests a St Etienne win, as they have triumphed in each of their last four clashes with Monaco and we are predicting a 1-0 win for Puel’s side, as that has been the scoreline in each of the last two meetings.
