Montenegro vs Bosnia And Herzegovina Predictions
- Fewer than three goals have been scored in each of Montenegro’s last four games.
- Fewer than three goals have been scored in each of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s last six matches.
- The two previous meetings between these two neighbouring republics both finished 0-0.
Don’t go for goals in Podgorica
Goals look likely to be scarce again when Bosnia-Herzegovina take to the field again over the border in Montenegro for Saturday’s Nations League B Group 3 clash. Neither of these two former Yugoslav republics are blessed with much spark or potency up front at the moment with Edin Dzeko currently enduring a barren patch in the twilight of his career.
Similarly, Montenegro have struggled to put the ball away without a helping hand from the opposition, which is what they got from Romania in last week’s opening 2-0 Nations League win. However, they were toothless in attack last time out against Finland and don’t look worthy of support for the win here – even as underdogs for the contest.
Ivaylo Petev’s visitors are on a three-match unbeaten run, during which they have beaten Luxembourg and Romania at home by solitary goal margins either side of a creditable 1-1 draw in Finland. By all accounts, the Bosnians dominated the second half in Helsinki so another rare away win might not be too far away.
Low-scoring draw looks very possible
However, with only one road victory in their last ten attempts, we aren’t tempted to support them at 6/4 here and will instead head to the much safer haven of the goal markets to eke out some profit. Fewer than three goals have been scored in each of Montenegro’s last four games and in each of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s last six matches.
Aside from taking the ‘unders’ play here and upping our stake to maximise the opportunity, a low-scoring draw also looks like being the most likely outcome based on both sides’ recent lack of goal power. Montenegro have actually scored in their last four home games while Bosnia-Herzegovina have hit the back of the net in four of their last five aways, but multiple goals are still rare for both sides, hence the 1-1 final score prediction.
