Morecambe goal scoring requires immediate attention

Both of these sides progressed to the next round of the EFL Cup and now they return to League One action.

Morecambe have had a tough start to the new campaign and are yet to hit the back of the net across their opening two fixtures against Shrewsbury Town and Peterborough United respectively. The ‘Shrimps’ were defeated 3-0 away to ‘Posh’ in their last league game and they need to be careful as if they are dealt another hefty defeat here, their confidence could be at an all time low. In order to avoid that, they need to improve their ability to finish off chances. They sit in the top 10 for big chances created but are the only side yet to score.

The visitors bounced back from an opening day defeat to Port Vale by securing victory over Plymouth Argyle on home soil. They also come into this one off the back of a 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the cup during the week and they’ll be eager to extend that winning run to three matches. The ‘Cod Army’ will be confident of at least getting on the scoresheet as they have managed to find the back of the net in five of their previous seven competitive away fixtures.

Away victory on the cards

We think Morecambe will struggle here. They struggle to finish chances and they may struggle to create them against Fleetwood Town. We like the price on the visitors to extend their winning run to three games by securing victory here.
