Nancy vs Angers Predictions
A low scoring affair looks the prospect this Saturday evening when 16th placed Nancy entertain 11th placed Angers at Stade Marcel Picot.
With just 12 and 15 scored respectively in 16 games so far this season, Nancy and Angers’ goal tallies are amongst the worst in Ligue 1 and this combined with the 0-0 draw in last term’s corresponding fixture suggests we could be in for another dour contest at the weekend.
9 of Nancy’s 12 goals have arrived at Stade Marcel Picot, however, that’s still an average of just one goal per game whilst Angers have netted just five times in eight starts on the road.
Therefore, before we even get into which team is in the better shape at the moment, under 1.5 goals has to be seriously considered here at 11/8.
Nancy have undoubtedly performed the best in recent weeks and had bagged four wins from six matches in all competitions prior to last weekend’s 3-0 loss at Marseille.
The hosts’ form in November has lifted them out of the Ligue 1 relegation zone and excluding the heavy defeat at Stade Velodrome, Pablo Correa’s charges would be a little overpriced for the win here at 29/20.
Nevertheless, it’s difficult to know whether the result will send Nancy back in the wrong direction and their home record overall this season is far from strong with just 10 points acquired from eight matches.
Angers meanwhile have found life tricky in recent weeks and go into Saturday’s game having won just once in their last seven outings.
After consecutive defeats to St Etienne and PSG, Stephane Moulin’s men could only manage a 2-2 draw at home to Lorient last week and that kind of form makes them unbackable here – especially at the 21/10 on offer.
So with both sides failing to convince, the most likely result appears to be another draw on Saturday.
However whilst the 2/1 on offer supports our theory that things will be tight, it’s never a good idea playing the draw at such skinny odds which reverts us back to under 1.5 goals at 11/8.
This covers another 0-0 stalemate between the sides and a narrow 1-0 win either way – all of which would not surprise.
If you are to have a punt on the correct score market, 0-0 would be the selection. However, the recommendation is to keep stakes small at odds of 11/2.
