Netherlands vs Lithuania Predictions
- The Netherlands have scored 23 goals in seven qualifying matches
- Lithuania are winless from their seven qualifiers
- The Netherlands have not lost a match on home soil since October 2023
Home comforts should be perfect way for Oranje to celebrate
The Netherlands all but guaranteed their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Friday night as they secured a 1-1 draw against Poland.
Ronald Koeman’s team are three points ahead of the Poles heading into the final round of fixtures and they have a 13-goal advantage over their Group G rivals.
The Netherlands return home with confidence, having not lost in front of their own supporters since October 2023, when they were beaten 2-1 by France.
Koeman’s outfit are unbeaten in seven games, while at home, they have scored at least two goals or more in six of their last seven.
The former Barcelona boss will not want his team to just limp over the line and he will set high standards despite their comfortable position in the group.
Lithuania did give Oranje a game in their last meeting, only losing 3-2, but they have a dismal away record and have not won any of their last seven on the road. They failed to trouble the scoresheet in four of those ties, so they should have another long night at the office as their disappointing qualifying campaign comes to an end.
