A 4-2 win over Tranmere at the weekend propelled Newport back to within touching distance of the play-offs and they are now unbeaten in three matches, losing just two of the last nine.

The Exiles have scored in seven of those nine outings, while failing to net in just one of their last 11 fixtures at Rodney Parade.

They are still conceding a fair few goals though, with both teams scoring in seven of their last nine home games and they have not managed to keep a clean sheet in half a dozen matches.

Forest Green having a wobble

A shock 2-1 defeat to Crawley at the weekend extended Forest Green’s winless run to three matches, the first time that has happened this season, while they have now not kept a clean sheet in four.

Rob Edwards’ side still have a ten point lead at the top of the table, but they are clearly enduring a little bit of a tricky spell which will be a worry ahead of their trip to South Wales.

They are still scoring goals though, with both teams netting in four of their last six, while that loss to Crawley was their first on the road this season.
