Hosts Newport County suffered a disappointing defeat away to fellow top seven side Northampton during the week and it means they’re now four points off an automatic promotion spot, the last of which is now occupied by Northampton, further proof of how disappointing that midweek loss was. They’ll feel confident of picking up a win here at Rodney parade however as they’ve been toppled just three times across the 13 games they’ve played there this season and welcome an Oldham Athletic outfit who struggle to score goals on the road.

Oldham Athletic have been nothing short of woeful throughout this game and appear to suffer from away day blues. No side has scored fewer than their tally of seven away goals this campaign and their lack of prowess in front of goal has been the key reason that they find themselves second from bottom in the league standings. However, they are currently on a two-match winning streak and twice hit the back of the net at home to Bristol Rovers during the week. But their away form is the main concern and they’ll be up against a side desperate to add another three points to their tally.

We’re expecting the hosts to dominate for large periods here and pen Oldham in their own half. We do think they’ll get the win but don’t fancy the prices.
