Favre has demanded improvement

Nice have made their second-worst start to a Ligue 1 season at this stage in a decade and that’s due to the fact they’ve struggled to claim victories, winning just three of their opening 11 matches so far. Boss Lucien Favre expects better and stated that his side need to “fight for the top three”. He will be looking at this encounter as one they should take three points from and an improved Nice performance can be expected.

The visitors managed to end a seven-game streak without a win last time out as they emerged as 4-1 victors over Brest. It’s clear that European commitments have played a part in affecting their league performances, particularly away from home where they’re yet to pick up three points. Nantes have not won at this venue since 2015 and it would be a little bit of a surprise if they left here with a convincing win.

Hosts to emerge victorious

It’s hard to separate these two as they have both been relatively poor. However, Nice have more quality and we think, whilst they may concede, they’ll do enough to win the game and we like the look of a home win with both teams scoring.
