Can Nice build some momentum again?

Nice’s title challenge may have collapsed, but they showed some signs of a revival before the international break when registering a 3-1 victory at Lens.

That result ended a six-match winless run, including a couple of defeats at home, but they should be happy to return to the Allianz Riviera, where they have won seven times in 13 league outings this season.

Francesco Farioli’s side will take confidence from that, as they will the fact that they have dropped only seven points on home soil against teams currently in the bottom half of the table.

Nantes need wins

That may not be good news for Nantes, who have used the international break as a chance to change manager, with Antoine Kombouaré making a surprise return to the dugout.

He is tasked with dragging his new side away from the bottom three, and they currently occupy a relegation play-off place after three successive defeats, including a damaging 2-0 reversal against Metz.

The Canaries have also lost five of their last eight away fixtures in Ligue 1, while failing to score in half of those matches.
