FC Nordsjaelland vs AGF Aarhus Predictions

  • Nordsjaelland have won three of their last four Superliga meetings with AGF.
  • The visitors lost to Larne in European qualifying on Thursday.
  • Nordsjaelland won eight of their 16 home games last season.

Nordsjaelland can claim first points

Nordsjaelland lost their season opener at home to Viborg last weekend but should be able to get off the mark when Aarhus visit Farum Park on Sunday.

The Tigers took an early lead against Viborg but were pegged back before the interval and then were unable to respond after falling 2-1 behind on 60 minutes.

Aarhus opened their account with a point at home against defending champions Brondby.  AGF opened the scoring after just 10 minutes but had to settle for a 1-1 draw, and they were arguably lucky to get anything out of the game as Brondby dominated proceedings for the majority of the game.

The visitors were also involved in Europa Conference League qualification in midweek as they slipped to a surprise defeat to Larne in Northern Ireland.   Coach Daniel Nielsen only made a couple of changes to his starting XI for that midweek European game but Aarhus went down to a 2-1 defeat, and Larne perhaps could have won by a bigger margin as they created 11 chances to the Danish club’s three. The quick turnaround from that European fixture also works against Aarhus going into Sunday’s game.

Nordsjaelland had an impressive home record last season with eight wins, four draws and four defeats and we feel there should be a reaction to that opening round loss to Viborg against AGF.  The North Zealand outfit have won three of their last four Superliga meetings with Aarhus and look good value to claim their first win of the season in this match-up, while 2-1 appeals in the correct score market as Nordsjaelland have just one clean sheet in their last nine home games.
