Norrkoping vs Gefle Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Norrkoping looked like they were in with a great chance of retaining their Sweden Allsvenskan title a few weeks ago,but a slight downturn in form has seen them slip in the rankings.

They have been leapfrogged by Malmo at the top of the Allsvenskan and they come into this game three points behind the leaders and trailing marginally on goal difference. Below them, Goteborg sit three points adrift in 3rd.

To add insult to injury, they were also knocked out of the Champions League in midweek, despite an impressive 3-2 win over Rosenborg in the second leg of their qualifying tie. On aggregate they lost 5-4, making it two wins, four draws, and one defeat in all competitions in their last seven games.

Norrkoping are still unbeaten since April in the Allsvenskan though, winning five and drawing four of their games since then. The majority of their failings have come on the road as well and, at home, they have won six and drawn two of their eight matches in all competitions this season.

Gefle managed to break out of their awful winless streak last weekend with a 4-2 victory against the struggling Kalmar. However, their overall form is a major cause for concern. They have lost eight of their last nine matches and their win last weekend was only their second of the season.

In total, they have managed just eight points from their opening 14 games, with ten defeats in these 14 outings making for grim reading and putting them rock bottom of the table. They are already six points adrift of the relegation playoff position and seven behind the safety of 13th position.

Away from home, Gefle have lost each of their last five and conceded 14 goals in the process, whilst Norrkoping have managed 23 goals in their eight home matches this season, only failing to score three or more goals on one occasion.

Gefle have conceded 33 goals in the Allsvenskan already this season, whilst Norrkoping’s 30 goal haul makes them the league’s top scorers. At home they have managed at least three goals in seven out of eight games so far this season, so my prediction is for Norrkoping Over 2.5 Team Goals at 11/10 to go along with a 4-1 correct score prediction at huge odds of 16/1.
