North Macedonia vs Germany Predictions

  • Germany have led at HT & FT in all three of their away World Cup qualifiers for 2022.
  • Germany have led at HT & FT in 14 of their last 15 away World Cup qualifiers.
  • North Macedonia have scored one first-half goal in their three home World Cup qualifiers for 2022.

Die Mannschaft close in on Qatar

Germany are almost there now after Friday’s 2-1 come-from-behind win at home to Romania sent them six points clear at the top of Group J. They can seal a place at Qatar 2022 with a win over second-placed North Macedonia on Monday – a match which also offers a chance for revenge for the 2-1 home reverse they suffered back in March.

They are such overwhelming favourites to win in Skopje that it would take them to cover a -2 handicap to secure odds of better than Evens – something which they have done in only three of seven qualifiers so far. A win to nil must be a consideration here, but North Macedonia did hit four past a Liechtenstein side that Germany only beat 2-0 last month, so we are wary of that too.

Germans tend to start quickly on their travels

Of all the ways to back Hansi Flick’s side to get the result they need, the HT/FT market looks the most promising based on stats.

Unlike in home qualifiers where Die Mannschaft have twice been a goal down at half-time, Germany have started on the front foot in all of their away trips and finished the job in style on each occasion.

As far as a correct score bet goes, we fancy a 3-1 German win because Hansi Flick has the squad depth to freshen up on the short turnaround while his North Macedonian counterpart does not. This should aid Germany’s quest for an early lead against potentially leggy opponents following the hosts’ trip back from Liechtenstein.
