Ukraine to Win

Reason for tip

Ukraine have won the last three competitive meetings with North Macedonia and although the hosts are on the improve, the visitors are the classier outfit and are fancied to maintain that dominance.

Ukraine 2-0

Reason for tip

Correct-score punters may want to side with a 2-0 win for Ukraine, given they have kept clean sheets in four of their last eight internationals and the fact they won by that scoreline on their last visit to North Macedonia in 2015.

North Macedonia vs Ukraine Predictions

  • Ukraine have lost only one of their last 11 Euro qualifiers
  • Ukraine have won their last three meetings with North Macedonia
  • Ukraine have kept clean sheets in four of their last eight internationals

Ukraine can maintain their superiority

Ukraine have won the last three competitive meetings with North Macedonia and although the hosts are on the improve, they are fancied to maintain that dominance.

North Macedonia are already up-and-running in Group C after a 2-1 win at home to Malta in March, whereas Ukraine are on the back foot after losing 2-0 at England.

This is only a second qualifier for both parties but Ukraine may be the sharper of the pair having played a friendly with Germany on Monday.

Visitors may be sharper of the pair

Serhiy Rebrov would have been extremely pleased with his side after that 3-3 draw in Bremen, even despite his team throwing away the victory after conceding two late goals.

Midfielder Viktor Tsyhankov was the star of the show, with the Girona player netting twice, and that result was even more impressive as they were missing star man Oleksandr Zinchenko.

But there is every hope they can build on that against North Macedonia, whose last two matches have seen them record narrow one-goal wins against weak opponents in Malta and the Faroes Islands.

Prior to that, the hosts had gone five games without a victory, losing to nil against the likes of Georgia, Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia.

Ukraine are much stronger than those representatives and have lost only one of their last 11 European qualifiers, having defeated the likes of Portugal and Serbia during that run.

Correct-score punters may want to side with a 2-0 win for Ukraine, given the visitors have kept clean sheets in four of their last eight internationals.
