Norway vs Malta Predictions
Norway are in a good position to qualify for their first major finals since the turn of the millenium, and a win against Malta will see them go into the final game of the group in 2nd position.
They have won their last two group matches, with Bulgaria and Croatia falling to 1-0 and 2-0 defeats respectively.
But they could only manage a goalless draw at home to Azerbaijan before that, which followed on from a 5-1 thrashing in the away match against Croatia.
They still have to face Group H leaders Italy in their final group game as well, so a win here will be crucial with 3rd place Croatia breathing down their necks.
The 3rd placed side are only two points behind Norway, and with them facing Bulgaria and Azerbaijan in their final two matches every point is vital for Norway at the moment.
Every point is crucial for Malta as well, but for a different reason. They, unsurprisingly, have no chance of qualifying for Euro 2016, but any point is a reason for celebration for the minnow nation.
They are at the bottom of Group H with a total of two points, which is quite a good haul for them. They picked these up in a draw against Bulgaria and a draw against Azerbaijan.
Other than that they have lost six games and failed to score, conceding ten times. They won’t be hoping for much when they visit the vastly different climate of Norway on Saturday evening.
Norway won the last meeting between these sides 3-0, and before that they won the previous three meetings by three goals. This makes odds of 5/6 for a Norway -2 Handicap Win look really good value, and I think another 3-0 victory is on the cards at 4/1.
