Nottingham Forest vs Derby Predictions
- The last five meetings have all ended in a 1-1 draw.
- The last 10 meetings have averaged just 1.5 goals per game.
- Both of these sides feature in the top nine for the fewest average shots on target per match in the Championship.
Lots on the line at the City Ground
The hosts last outing finished with drama as they scored a last-gasp winner against Millwall. It was a result that kept their hopes of finishing in a playoff spot alive and marked a turnaround in form given they’d lost their two prior matches. However, the City Ground has been anything but a fortress this season as they’ve claimed just 15 of their 37 points on home soil.
Where to begin with Derby County. They were handed a 21 point penalty due to their financial troubles and whilst liquidation remains a real possibility, boss Wayne Rooney has turned his side into one that’s extremely difficult to beat and still have a chance of avoiding the drop. To put things into perspective, were it not for the point deduction, the Rams would be sitting comfortably in twelfth place. However, they need to be a bit more resolute as they’ve dropped 17 points when they’ve netted the opening goal this campaign – something that could cost them at the end of the season.
Goals few and far between in tight encounter
This is a tough one to call, it’s a derby and both sides have important goals to work towards. Avoiding defeat will be the most important thing here and given that historically, this is a fixture with few goals, we see there being less than three total goals here and a draw could be likely.
