Nottingham Forest vs Leicester City Predictions

  • Five of the last six head-to-head clashes between these two have gone over 2.5 goals
  • Leicester have taken more points away this season than at home
  • Forest have the worst defensive record in the Premier League, conceding 34 goals

Forest turning the tide?

After a huge turnover in their squad in the summer, Nottingham Forest had a poor start to the season but have turned things around in recent weeks as their squad begins to settle. The Tricky Trees have taken seven points from their last four league games, including crucial 1-0 wins over Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively.

As a result, Steve Cooper’s side have pulled themselves out of the relegation zone and now sit level with their opponents Leicester on 17 points.

Leicester struggling after World Cup

Leicester’s poor start to the season looked like a thing of the past when they won four games out of five before the World Cup break, but the Foxes have had a poor beginning to the second half of their campaign, losing all three of their Premier League clashes against Newcastle, Liverpool and Fulham.

Those results have seen Brendan Rodgers’ side fall back in the race to reach the top ten and they are now looking over their shoulders once more. However the Foxes will be boosted by the fact that they have taken more points away from home this season than at the King Power.

Goals may be on the cards

Both of these sides can be susceptible to defensive lapses so it may be worth siding with over 2.5 goals in this Midlands derby. Five of the last six head-to-heads between these two sides have gone seen three or more goals, while both teams have scored in five of Forest’s last seven home games so both sides can play their part in an entertaining clash.

However, Leicester’s dip in form post-World Cup looks about to end and they are fancied to pick up a narrow 2-1 win in this clash.

  • Four of Leicester’s nine Premier League away games this season have gone over 3.5 goals
  • Both teams have scored in five of Nottingham Forest’s last seven Premier League home games
