Nottingham Forest vs Reading Predictions
The hosts aren’t having a great campaign but did beat bitter rivals Derby 1-0 in their last home match to lift some of the gloom at the City Ground. 17 points from 17 games is still a worrying statistic though for the East Midlands club and they are only 2 points above the drop-zone having failed to win any of their last 10 fixtures besides their triumph against the Rams.
Reading were also having a difficult run and have dropped out of the play-off places but picked up their first victory in six matches at home to bottom club Bolton last time out. Manager Steve Clarke, who briefly flirted with the idea of what surely would have been no more than a sideways move to Fulham, has decided to stay put and could probably use a few wins to revive his popularity among supporters of the Royals.
His team are usually quite attacking and have only failed to score once on the road this season, while both teams have netted in all but one of their last 6 games in all competitions. Nottingham Forest aren’t prolific scorers by any means but they have only failed to score in 2 of their last 11 games at the City Ground and therefore there is plenty of reason to think both teams will net in this game and you can back that to be the case at 4/5.
One narrow win at home to the bottom club isn’t really enough to suggest that Reading have turned a corner and are back to their early season form. Forest are a stubborn side and will probably have enough to stay in division by grinding out results in matches such as this.
4 of their last 14 matches have ended in a 1-1 draw and this is a strong candidate for another one and you can back a repeat scoreline here at 5/1.
