We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
Draw 1-1 @ 5/1

Reason For Nottingham Forest vs Sheffield Wednesday Predictions

  • Playoff hopefuls Nottingham Forest have lost just 1 of their last 7 matches, so are proving hard to beat.
  • Nonetheless, they’ve now won just 1 of their last 5 outings, so will be hungry to pick up 3 points this Saturday.
  • Sheffield Wednesday have had a decent season themselves so far and arrive unbeaten in 4 matches and just 1 point short of the top 6.
  • With both nets having been hit in the last 7 of their matches, excitement is normally assured when Wednesday are in action.

Forest looking for home win

After what feels like an eternity outside of the Premier League, Nottingham Forest hoping this is the season they finally return to the top flight. They’ve made a good start to the campaign and find themselves inside the play-offs and there can be no doubting boss Sabri Lamouchi has done a good job since coming in over the summer.

Nonetheless, Forest’s work in recent weeks hasn’t been quite as impressive as what they were doing earlier on in the season and though they are still proving hard to beat, they’ve won just 1 of their last 5 matches. Saturday’s game provides a good opportunity to return to winning ways but with a strong Wednesday side in town, it’ll be no easy task.

Wednesday protecting unbeaten streak

Indeed, just like Forest, Wednesday’s spell away from the Premier League has been an extended one but hopes are high that The Owls can make their return this season; so long as a rumoured potential points deduction doesn’t hit. Garry Monk has the side playing well and they come into Saturday’s fixture just 1 point short of the playoffs and Forest themselves.

Wednesday have picked up some very impressive results of late, namely winning away at Charlton and beating a strong Brentford side at home and there’s no doubting they’ll fancy their chances at The City Ground. Wednesday go into every game believing they can win and typically play with quite an open style; something reflected in the fact that their last 7 matches have seen goals at both ends.

Both nets being hit seems likely

Ultimately, Saturday’s affair should be a fairly open and evenly matched game. The two are fighting at the top end of the table and are direct rivals for a playoff spot, creating an interesting dynamic prior to kick-off that will have both sides going for victory.

All things considered, backing Both Teams to Score looks the best way to play and is something we’re more than happy to do. As mentioned above Wednesday’s last 7 games have seen goals at either end, as have their last 5 away games and with score draws having been on display in Forest’s last 2 outings, we think a 1-1 draw could well be on the cards in this one.
