There is one League Two game on Thursday as Notts County welcome Grimsby to Meadow Lane.

County are seeking their first win of the new season after three draws, one of which came in a cup game that they then lost on penalties.

Grimsby opened the season with a defeat at Fleetwood but they come into this Thursday fixture on the back of a 3-2 home win over Cheltenham.

County may be winless after three games but they have perhaps been unlucky. They have had more chances than both of their opponents in their two League Two games but had to settle for points against Tranmere and Fleetwood, while they opened up a 2-0 lead at League One side Shrewsbury in the cup and were on the wrong end of a comeback.

Grimsby lost at Fleetwood in their only trip so far and have been fairly poor travellers for a while, with just one win in their last 11 away, so this looks like a good opportunity for County to record a first win.

This could be a good fixture for fans of both teams to score and over 2.5 goals bets. Last season, the corresponding fixture finished 3-2 in favour of County and in the reverse fixture in January these two played out an incredible 5-5 draw.

We might not see quite the same level of entertainment here and a 3-1 win for County is the correct score pick. The home side have hit five goals across their last two games but The Mariners averaged exactly one goal per-game on the road last season and can at least get on the scoresheet.
