Nurnberg vs Bochum Betting Tips & Predictions

Nurnberg have endured some poor spells of form this season, but the form they are in at the moment isn’t one of those spells.

They have won six 2. Bundesliga matches on the trot in the lead up to this game and haven’t lost in the league since the beginning of October.

This has taken them into a very promising position in the league table, and they now sit in 3^rd position in the 2. Bundesliga. They are only two points off the automatic promotion spot that Freiburg occupy as well, so a win on Monday could take them into the top two in the league.

Bochum aren’t out of the race by any means though. They sit in 5^th position in the table with five fewer points than their opponents on Monday.

They are in good form as well. They did suffer a defeat in the DFB Pokal on Wednesday as Bayern Munich strolled to a 3-0 victory, but before that they had gone five matches unbeaten in all competitions.

Three of these five matches ended in a win for Bochum, but in the longer term they are struggling to find that crucial winning mentality. They have only won three of their last 11 competitive matches, which isn’t really good enough considering they want to challenge for promotion.

Bochum do have the upper hand in terms of past meetings between these sides. They have won their last two matches against Nurnberg and haven’t been beaten by them since 2007, a run of seven matches in which they have won three times.

I think Nurnberg could end that streak on Monday. Their form has been exceptional recently and they will be spurred on by the fact that they could move into 2^nd place with a win. Odds of 6/5 for a home win look good value too, and I’m predicting a 2-0 win at 10/1 as well.
