Olympiacos 2-0

Reason for tip

Olympiakos have won each of their last three assignments without conceding and two of those victories finished 2-0. Back them to outgun a Pafos outfit that has been light on goals since the summer.

Olympiacos vs Paphos Predictions

  • Olympiakos have won each of their last three matches to nil.
  • Olympiakos were unbeaten at home in Europe last season (Europa League).
  • Pafos have scored one or fewer goals in six of their last eight games.

Olympiakos to make a positive start

Olympiakos haven’t put a foot wrong domestically since the start of the new Super League campaign in Greece, winning three matches out of three while running up an impressive aggregate score of 9-0.

Their emphatic 5-0 triumph over Panserraikos on Saturday featured 29 shots and nine big chances for a rampant-looking Olympiakos and the Greek giants will carry plenty of early momentum into Wednesday’s Champions League Group Phase opener.

The 2024 UEFA Conference League winners have decent European pedigree and they were unbeaten at home in last season’s Europa League before their eventual elimination in the Round of 16 at the hands of Bodo/Glimt.

Cypriot minnows Pafos meanwhile, are competing in the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history, having plotted a route past Maccabi Tel Aviv, Dynamo Kyiv and Red Star Belgrade in a series of summer pre-qualifiers.

Five of the visitor’s six qualification fixtures featured under 2.5 goals, with Pafos netting just once in four of the same contests however, while a return of just one goal from their first two First Division tussles in Cyprus only strengthens the belief that this is an outfit that struggles in the final third.

A more experienced Olympiakos side can keep Pafos at arm’s length here, so back the hosts to triumph with a clean sheet in a 2-0 win.
