Orgyte IS vs Falkenberg Predictions
This is arguably the biggest game of the season so far in the Swedish Superettan. It sees the top two meet and the winner of the match will top the table and hold the momentum as we head towards the middle of this campaign when the race to reach the Allsvenskan will really heat up.
It’s no great surprise to see Falkenberg challenging. They finished 4th last term, just one place outside of the play-off position and they’ll be hoping to go at least one better this term. They were a top flight club between 2014 and 2016 so the foundations remain in place and with a 70% win ratio so far this term they look well equipped to go the distance and secure promotion.
Orgryte’s start has been more of a surprise. They had to win a play-off just to stay in the Swedish second tier at the end of last year. The Gothenburg outfit are one of Sweden’s oldest sports clubs though so they would by no means be out of place at the higher level and judging by their start, they look well equipped to make a challenge.
This certainly promises to be a good game with both sides impressing in the final third so far this term. Orgryte average an excellent 2.75 goals per game at home and have scored in 90% of their league games overall this term. Defensively they’ve been pretty good but cracks have started to form as they’ve come up against some of the stronger sides in recent weeks. They shipped 3 goals in just their 2nd defeat of the season against Brage last time out so their opponents here will take confidence from that.
The only side to have scored more goals in the Swedish second tier this term is Falkenberg. They’ve netted four times in both of their last two away games and they average 2.8 goals per away game overall. They have certainly been willing to take a chance on the road, even against strong opponents and that has contributed to 80% of their away games seeing goals at each end. Given the success they’ve had with that approach, there’s no reason to see them veering from it here even in a top of the table showdown.
All things considered, going for Both Teams to Score looks like it could be the smart move here as the division’s two highest scorers meet.
The visitors perhaps have a bit more quality and with Orgryte losing 2 of their last 3 matches, there have been signs that their bubble may just be bursting. Backing Falkenberg Draw No Bet also looks like it could offer value.
