Can Osasuna start strongly?

Osasuna had a thoroughly disappointing end to the 2021/22 La Liga season, failing to win any of their final six matches thanks to three wins and three draws.

Pre-season has seen Jagoba Arrasate’s side beat Feyenoord, Burgos and Mirandes, but they also suffered defeats to Real Sociedad and Groningen.

They must improve on a terrible home record from last year though, when they managed only five wins in 19 games, picking up fewer points than all bar one of their La Liga rivals on home soil.

Sevilla aiming for the top four again

Sevilla finished in a Champions League position last season and they had an impressive record on their travels, losing just three times in 19 outings.

Julen Lopetegui’s side drew 0-0 at this venue, as well as beating Osasuna 2-0 at home, while they are unbeaten against Los Rojillos in ten matches.

They have also lost just two of their last 24 top flight matches, while pre-season has included wins over Angers and Cadiz, as well as defeats against Arsenal and Leicester.

I predict that Sevilla will win this game, so that’s my initial selection, but neither team scored too many goals in 2021/22, so 2-0 is my correct score prediction.
