PAOK vs Borussia Dortmund Betting Tips

The hosts are in good form and are Europa League regulars these days so top level experience won’t be a problem. They have a pretty good home record in the competition having won 15 of their 24 games at Stadio Toumbas since the turn of the decade. That sort of pedigree and positive results at home to the likes of Villarreal, Fenerbahce and Tottenham during that period suggest they won’t fear Borussia Dortmund.

They’ve scored 4 or more goals in 4 of their last 7 Europa League home matches and although the opposition is much tougher they are unlikely to change their approach radically and will feel they can exploit a Borussia defence, which isn’t always convincing.

The Germans conceded 5 goals over 2 legs in an incredible play-off win over Odd Grenland and conceded in their opening group match too, a 2-1 win over Krasnodar. Therefore we can certainly see both teams scoring here and you can back that to be the case at 8/11.

Borussia are strong favourites to win the game as you’d expect they would be but they have hit a little bit of a rough patch after notching up a brilliant 11 consecutive wins in all competitions over the first couple of months of the new season.

Their last 2 games have ended in score draws against Hoffenheim and Darmstadt 98 in the Bundesliga and with a huge trip to the Allianz Arena to play Bayern Munich coming up on Sunday, it seems certain that there will be plenty of players rested here. This isn’t a strong group and they should qualify regardless of the result in this game so it might be a nice time for PAOK to play Dortmund.

The hosts come into the game on the back of excellent wins over AEK Athens and Atromitis in the Greek League and if Borussia aren’t quite at their best, they could take full advantage. Certainly goals are almost guaranteed when Dortmund are in action so it’s very hard to see them losing to nil, even if it is with a weakened side.
