Partick vs Hearts Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Partick managed to make it back to back victories for the first time in 2017 last weekend when they beat Hamilton 2-0 at home, to follow on from their Scottish FA Cup success at St Johnstone the weekend before.

This takes their overall record recently to five wins, two draws, and three defeats from their last ten outings in all competitions, and whilst they sit in a respectable 7th position in the Scottish Premiership, they are far from safe yet. There are just seven points separating them from the bottom of the Premiership table, and a defeat on Saturday could send them as low as 10th, depending on other results.

Their home form is fairly decent in the league though. They have won two, drawn one, and lost one of their last four home games, which is a fantastic achievement considering they had failed to win any of their previous eight matches before that.

Hearts won’t be easy to stop though. The visitors were held at home to Inverness CT last week but prior to that had achieved comfortable margins of victory against Motherwell and Rangers. They have won three, drawn three, and lost four of their last ten outings in the league, so whilst they are by no means unstoppable they have improved in recent weeks.

Away from home they are a work in progress though. Their 3-0 win against Motherwell in their last away day in the league ended a run of seven league trips away without a win, four of which ended in victory, thanks to their terrible defence. They have conceded 19 goals in their last eight away games in the league, but have scored 13 at the other end to make for some very entertaining football.

Hearts’ record of clean sheets on the road is pretty dismal, but recently their attacking play has flourished. Even away from home they are looking fantastic going forward, and whilst Partick have a respectable defensive record, I think Hearts will be able to find the net. Partick have scored in eight of their last ten home games though, so backing Both Teams to Score at 4/5 along with a 2-2 correct score predictions at 14/1 looks a good choice here.
